Insurance is an industry people approach with their guard up, and usually for good reason. The work here is to be the exception: to explain coverage plainly, to answer the question that was actually asked, and to make it obvious when something does not fit. That standard applies to the copy on this site, the way our agents talk, and the way we build software.

Four things we hold to.
Not slogans. These are the rules we use to settle arguments about what to build and what to say.
Say the true thing, even when it costs a sale
If a plan is wrong for someone, the right answer is to say so. If a benefit has a limit, the limit belongs in the sentence that describes the benefit, not in a footnote. Nobody here is asked to sell past what a person needs.
Plain language is a feature
Coverage is complicated enough without borrowed jargon. We write for someone reading on a phone during a lunch break, and we test our explanations against the questions people actually ask, not the ones we wish they would.
Compliance is part of the craft
Licensing, privacy, and marketing rules exist because this industry has hurt people. We treat them as design constraints to work within skillfully, not obstacles to route around.
Small teams, real ownership
We would rather have a few people who understand the whole problem than many who each hold a fragment. Expect to talk directly with the people your work affects, including members.
